Competitor Conquest lists (created by pulling traffic from your competitor’s ad traffic) are typically most effective when paired with traffic‑focused campaigns where the goal is landing page views and community or home information. The Competitor Conquesting profiles are often homebuyers in the early research phase which are browsing competitor sites or clicking on ads but not quite ready to convert. That’s why driving them to an informative landing page is usually the safer bet than traditional hard call to actions.
An example of this approach can be seen within our active adult homebuyers and communities, where SmartTouch builds two targeted lists totaling roughly 12,000 contacts across major metro areas like New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington DC. The campaign targets key domains, including 55+ listing sites and regional lifestyle destinations where the potential homebuyers are clicking around. The success in the Conquesting campaigns stems from it’s strategic targeting: a niche product, a curated list of relevant competitor sites, and a focus on markets with a proven sales track record. Combining these elements leads to higher conversions and lower cost of acquisition as seen in recent survey.
